Casinacho Games

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Casinacho Games is a tidy little bundle of bite-sized challenges wrapped in a cheerful, colorful interface. Each mode is a short skill or reaction game — tapping, timing, matching shapes — and the whole thing is clearly built for those spare moments when you're waiting for a kettle to boil. We liked that there's no long tutorial; you tap into a mode and you're playing within seconds.

The controls are the strong point. Everything is single-touch or a simple swipe, and the hit areas are generous, so it works fine even if you're playing one-handed on the bus. We ran it on an older phone and it stayed responsive, which isn't something we take for granted with menu-heavy casual titles. Battery drain was modest during our sessions, roughly what you'd expect from a lightweight 2D game.

If we have a gripe, it's that the variety plateaus after a while — once you've seen each mode, the loop is familiar. Still, for short bursts it does exactly what it sets out to do, and the clean presentation makes it pleasant to return to.
